Board Chair

Daniel Cyr

Daniel Cyr is a husband and father with a blended family, which consists of 11 children and numerous grandchildren. He pursued post secondary education as an adult student and received a Bachelor’s degree in Administration in Business. Daniel is currently a Councilor with George Gordon First Nation and has been on the Board of GGDL for the duration of his term as a Councilor. He is a Residential School survivor who went on to thrive as a contractor in roofing and renovations for residential housing. Daniel is committed to serve his community in anyway possible.

Board Vice Chair

Angela McNab

Angela McNab was born and raised on the George Gordon First Nation and is currently serving her second four-year term as a Council Member for the Nation. Angela has 24 years of experience working in the housing industry in various roles from Housing Assistant, Housing Manager to a Class 1 Building Official completing housing inspections all across the province. Angela has contributed to the on-reserve housing needs through proposal driven initiatives and work closely with the Housing Department to ensure the needs of the Nation are being addressed. As a GGDL board member, Angela has learned a lot about the business development sector and will continue to work to bring training and employment programs to the nation while working along side our workforce development programs to get GGFN membership into the workforce. Angela wants to ensure that our Nation continues to be prosperous and that job creation for all future generations is a top priority.

Board Member

Robyn Bird

Robyn Bird possesses more than two decades of expertise working with the City of Regina, specializing in community and recreation services, community development, corporate strategy, and performance. She has successfully obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work from the University of Regina, along with a professional leadership certificate from the same institution. Additionally, Robyn holds the esteemed position of city co-chair for the Municipal Benchmarking Networking of Canada, while currently serving as the Manager of Divisional Support for Community Development and city planning. Robyn firmly believes that the key to our community's triumph lies in harnessing our existing and future partnerships to establish a self-sufficient community that prioritizes investment and the enhancement of our members' quality of life.

Board Member

Lyle Daniels

Lyle Daniels, a member of the George Gordon First Nation, possesses extensive expertise in the Trades sector. Presently, Lyle serves as the Community and Indigenous Director at Building Trades of Alberta. Lyle's proficiency lies in the advancement of First Nation communities, specifically in equipping them with the necessary skills for the construction trades. Lyle also possesses comprehensive knowledge in various aspects such as First Nations Treaty Land Entitlements, taxation, and ISC policies. Furthermore, Lyle is a skilled facilitator who has conducted Indigenous Awareness Training for numerous organizations. This training not only aims to dispel myths and misconceptions but also to foster inclusivity within workplaces.

Wayne McKenzie

Wayne McKenzie is a notable figure in the Southern Métis Council of Saskatchewan. In the 2012 Métis Nation Saskatchewan election, he ran for president, securing the fourth position. Born in Regina, McKenzie's political involvement began during his time in a provincial corrections facility, leading to a diverse career in organizations like the Company of Young Canadians and the Native Projects Society. A key advocate for affordable housing in the early 1980s, McKenzie, alongside Jim Sinclair, secured $120,000 for housing needs. He played a crucial role in the recognition of Métis in the 1982 Constitution, witnessing constitutional negotiations in 1983. Wayne is also a founding member of Saskatchewan’s public sector Aboriginal Government Employees Network.
