This credential can be procured through select non-profit workforce development organizations in Saskatchewan, operating in strategic collaboration with the Ministry of Career Training and Immigration. A cornerstone of our employment offerings lies in opportunities at the Jansen Discovery Lodge within Jansen Mine. Wicehtowak Frontec Services is the dedicated entity responsible for delivering essential services within the Discovery Lodge, encompassing roles in the kitchen, housekeeping, and janitorial functions. Collaborating closely with ATCO-Frontec, we diligently assist in upholding the terms of the partnership agreement with George Gordon Developments who is committed to maintaining a robust 70% Indigenous Workforce. This strategic initiative is geared towards expanding employment prospects for Indigenous individuals in the context of high-value, multi-billion-dollar projects.

In the event that you do not meet the initial qualifications or have limited employment experience, we conduct semi-annual Indigenous Skills Training programs designed to support our community members in securing entry-level positions within the camp. This paid, two-week program encompasses comprehensive safety training tailored to mine operations. Participants have the opportunity to familiarize themselves with fellow group members, fostering a supportive environment, and engage in a job rotation to identify their preferred roles.

Upon program completion, we conduct individualized discussions with each participant to assess their experience and preferences for specific positions. Those who excel in the Indigenous Skills Training Program are extended employment offers within the camp, aligning with our commitment to providing meaningful opportunities based on individual strengths and aspirations.
